Dungeness Transfer is a group that the Barbershop Harmony Society calls a VLQ, or Very Large Quartet. They are larger than a group of four, but smaller than the chorus as a whole. The ”VLQ” category was started to expand the opportunities for members to participate in small group singing as well as opening up the opportunity for additional chorus members to participate in competition singing. In 2007, Dungeness Transfer performed in the Evergreen District’s Chorus VLQ Contest and won first place honors. This group performs a different repertoire than the full chorus and is used to provide more musical variety in the show performances.
