The New Directions Quartet consists of Gary McRoberts as Bass, Dave Richardson as Tenor, Ed Grimes as Lead and Joe Hudon as Baritone. Gary, Dave and Ed are the directors of the chorus, thus part of the reason for the name. The quartet formed about a year ago to sing barbershop but also to sing more jazz style songs, "new directions" for a barbershop quartet. Dr. Gary McRoberts, D.M.A. has an extensive background in vocal jazz performance so the quartet wanted to explore music that would utilize his knowledge and expertise. They are currently working on a repertoire that includes both classic barbershop songs and songs with strong jazz influence.
 
The quartet is currently on hiatus, following the demise of valued and beloved choir member, Dave Richardson.
